Fall Hunter Pace

The Old Chatham Hunt Club is pleased to be part of the Hudson Valley Pace Series again for the 2026 season! We are the first event of the series!

Whether you’re a fox hunter, trail rider, eventer, pleasure rider or seasoned “pacer”, we welcome everyone to come ride and enjoy the beautiful Hunt Country of Columbia County. Our pace runs through some of the prettiest vistas around! We offer a combination of rolling hills, wooden trails, farm land, picturesque barns, views of the Catskills Mountains, stream crossings and the opportunity to jump logs and coops. Rest assured all fences have go arounds and we offer quite a few baby logs for the newbies.

Adults Early Entry (until September 4th) $80 per rider

Juniors Early Entry (until September 4th) $60 per rider

Late Entry Adult (September 5 – Sept 11th Noon $95

Late Entry Junior (Aug 30 -Sept 11th Noon) $75

Online entries with guarantee ride time closes on September 11th. Entries received after 9/11 will have to stand by on course and will be accommodated as fast as possible. Register and pay online to help us.

Three Divisions:

Hunt – Junior – Pleasure
(**Junior division time will be the same as Pleasure division but will be pinned separately. In order to qualify for the junior division you must have at least one junior rider (under age 18) on your team.)

*Results are judged against a pre-determined ideal time set for each division by an experienced fox hunter

Maximum three riders to a team. If four riders, then two teams of two.

ASTM safety helmet with harness required when mounted.

*Awards, Ribbons and Raffle start around 1:00* (depending on last team to complete course

*Completed entries must include: Entry, Payment, Negative Coggins, Signed Release Form For Each Rider*

Best ride I’ve ever had on my horse!

I was going to write you to congratulate and compliment you on the spectacular Hunter Pace course and record setting turnout! It was the prettiest course I’ve ever ridden with gorgeous Fall colors and beautiful woodlands. Bravo on your yearlong planning and flawless execution. The food was delicious today, especially the steaks, and all the participants felt welcomed and cared for. Folks came from Vermont, New Haven, CT and Binghamton, NY and raved about the course.
