The OCHC sponsored trail rides are a special opportunity to explore some spectacular, private trails not open to the public with a friendly group of people.  A walk-trot and a walk-trot-canter group will be offered. The ride leaves at 10:00 AM (arrive by 9:30AM) and lasts between 1.5 – 2 hours.

Cost: $20 per horse and rider; potluck social to follow ride.

All rides are on Sundays at venues on this website.

All riders must have ASTM approved helmets, boots with a heel (no sneakers), current coggins, and signed releases.

June 18, 2017 – Tanner Farm

Bashford Road, Valatie
Beautiful trails through the woods and then out into rolling fields. We’ll come out onto a dirt road which then leads to more lovely fields and stunning views accented with woodland breaks.

Meet at the corner of Bashford and Richmond Road, Valatie. Trailer Parking is along the road of Bashford and Richmond Rd.

From the North (I 90): Exit 11E to Route 20 towards Nassau and go 5.4 miles. Turn right onto Route 203 and go 3 miles. Turn left onto County Route 32 and go 0.7 miles. Take the 1st Rd which turns into a dirt road. Go 1.2 miles to the intersection of Bashford and Richmond Road.

From the South: From the circle on Route 66 in the Village Chatham, head north on Route 66 for 4.5 miles. Stay straight to go onto Route 17 for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Brown Road which turns into dirt. At the end of Brown Road and turn left onto Bashford Road. Go 0.8 miles to the intersection of Bashford and Richmond Road.
